According to the actual result of export / import of rubber products from January 50 June 2015 that was summarised by The Society of Rubber Science and Technology, Japan summarised based on trade statics by Ministry of Finance, export amount was 499,490,000,000 JPY, and which was 0.1% lower than the same term of the previous year.
Sales amount of automotive tyres, tubes, and rubber belts, etc. was decreased, but the result remained similar level to the previous year as a result of an increase of the sales of rubber hoses, gaskets, etc.
Export amount in June alone was 94,223,000,000 JPY, which was 2.4% increase in comparison with June 2014. It was an increase for the first time after 3 months. The sales of rubber belts and hoses was lower than the previous year, but the increase of the sales of automotive tyres, tubes and gaskets led to higher sales result than the previous year.
Also the import amount from January to June 2015 was 220,421,000,000 JPY, which was 11.5% increase in comparison with the same term of the previous year.
Import amount for June 2015 alone was 37,040,000,000 JPY, which was 15.4% increase in comparison with June 2014. It turned into an increase from a decrease in the previous month. Having begun with automotive tyres and tubes that were a decrease by two digits in the previous months turned into an increase, the fact that all products such as rubber belts, rubber hoses and gaskets exceeded the result of the previous year was a major reason to this increase.
Total amount of export from January to June 2015 was 22,085,000,000 JPY, which was 3.1% decrease in comparison with the same term of the previous year. And import was 5,796,000,000 JPY, which was 19.9% increase.
Export amount of rubber belts in June was 4,130,000,000 JPY, which was 6.5% decrease in comparison with June 2014. It was a decrease for 3 months in a row.
Exports for the main countries for exports such as the US and China was increased, but the fact that exports to resource-rich countries became less gave an impact.
Import was 1,189,000,000 JPY, which was 23.2% increase in comparison with June 2014. It was an increase for 2months in a row.
Total amount of export of rubber hoses from January to June was 3.6% increase in comparison with the same term of the previous year. Import was 10,127,000,000 JPY, which was 16.4% increase in comparison with the same term of the previous year.
Export of rubber hoses in June was 4,032,000,000 JPY, which was 1.4% decrease in comparison with June 2014. It was a decrease for 3 months in a row.
For main export countries, the amount for the US and India increased, but the amount for Indonesia, Thailand and China decreased. Especially the significant decrease of the export for Indonesia seems to be a big impact.
Import was 1,735,000,000 JPY, which was 10.5% increase in comparison with June 2014. It has been increasing for 27 months in a row since April 2013.
Total amount of exports of automotive tyres and tubes from January to June 2015 was 328,173,000,000JPY, which was 1.7% decrease in comparison with the same term of the previous year. Import was 66,777,000,000 JPY, which was 8.3% increase in comparison with the same term of the previous year.
Export of automotive tyres and tubes in June was 64,771,000,000 JPY, which was 2.3% increase. It was an increase for the first time after 3 months.
Export for some main export countries such as Russia and UAE was a decrease, but the increase of exports for the US and Saudi Arabia, etc. resulted in exceeding the result of the previous year.
Also import was 10,554,000,000 JPY, which was 4.2% increase in comparison with June 2014. It was an increase after the decrease in the previous month.
